The Active Wellbeing Service

Co-operative Futures is helping the successful Active Wellbeing Service in its transition from local authority to an independent Community Benefit Society.  Their vision is “Using physical activity, guided by innovation, collaboration and insight, to do the social knitting required to create stronger and more resilient communities.” To do this The Active Wellbeing Service provides activities such as Active Parks, Big Birmingham Bikes, leisure centres and community centres. As the staff move to an organisation with a very different structure and with new ownership and governance processes Co-operative Futures support is focused on culture change, the meaning of membership and how to make it all work.
