Co-operative Futures is helping the successful The Active Wellbeing Society in its transition from local authority to an independent Community Benefit Society. Their vision is “Using physical activity, guided by innovation, collaboration and insight, to do the social knitting required to create stronger and more resilient communities.” To do this The Active Wellbeing Society provides activities such as Active Parks, Big Birmingham Bikes, leisure centres and community centres. As the staff move to an organisation with a very different structure and with new ownership and governance processes Co-operative Futures support is focused on culture change, the meaning of membership and how to make it all work.
“Working with Co-operative Futures has been invaluable for The Active Wellbeing Society. The team have shared their knowledge and expertise throughout our entire organisation, delivered in a way that’s been easy to understand and also fun! We’re looking forward to continuing to work with them for many years to come.” – Ash Scott, Director of Partnerships and Fundraising
